This is a wonderful studio in Manchester. I joined as a complete beginner in Jan 2025, I took the 6 week intro course and it was a fantastic experience, Jo is a truly outstanding teacher she is so kind and knowledgeable! I continued with the beginner courses and then joined as a regular member in Jo’s classes since then. The environment she cultivates is so warm and welcoming to all levels and Jo will guide you and give you freedom to create what you love. The whole community at Seven Limes is amazing. If you are an experienced potter or a complete newcomer there is absolutely a space for you here!
10/10 experience and service. I'm fortunate to have lived the 7 Limes experience twice now (one 12 week pottery course and a recent throwing taster session) 12 - week pottery course: - An amazing few months. We got shown how to do slab work, throwing and glazing. Sam helped inspire us to design our products and guided us through the process. A phenomenal time in my life and i will be going back again to do a more prolonged course. I still utilise everything I made on a regular bases. (And the price is extremely reasonable when you realise just quite how much you're getting for your money per session) 1 day throwing course: - This is something I have just recently done after inviting some friends for a creative outing. Nancy was a fantastic teacher and showed us how to throw bowls. Their new studio is spacious and easy to find with plenty of on road parking just outside. Its a really nice nice evening activity and you walk away with good memories and art of your creation (technically not as you have to leave them there to be fired and can pick them up / or glaze them after that) Anyone who's considering it - I fully recommend. Its a fantastic and artistic hobby thats facilitated by a welcoming and friendly team. Thanks Sam and Nancy!
Spent three years at Seven Limes Pottery before moving back to Canada. Sam is an incredible instructor — attentive, patient, and truly invested in every student’s progress! No matter your level, he meets you where you are and helps you grow from there. Looking back at where I started, I’m amazed at how much I’ve progressed, and it’s entirely thanks to his guidance and encouragement! The studio has such a warm, friendly atmosphere and really feels like a community — I’ve even made lifelong friends along the way! I’ve learned so much here, not just about pottery but about enjoying the process. So grateful I found this place!
I attended a two day wheel throwing class led by Sam and it was a brilliant experience. This is only my second time trying wheel throwing but I felt I improved so much on this intense course. Sam was amazing and so patient with me. He is highly skilled and has so much knowledge he’s a great teacher. I’m already booked on for a follow up course and I’m excited to learn more. The facilities are brilliant, fully equipped and the course prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Seven Limes Pottery.
I thoroughly enjoyed a 2.5 hour hand building taster session with 10 friends at 7 Limes today. The location is convenient and a few of us parked right outside. The workspace is colourful and inviting as soon as you walk through the door, full of pots and inspiration. Sarah was the best guide; clear, attentive and keen to help each of us tailor our creations every step of the way. Sam, who facilitated the booking and payment, was friendly and responsive. We are all raving about our fantastic day, and we will be back!
I checked out a few pottery studios when I was first looking, including some one-day classes, and this place turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for. Sadly, I had to move away so I can’t keep coming, but I had such a great time while I was in Manchester. This studio is great for everyone 🧚♂️ whether you’re a total beginner or have been doing pottery for years. The teachers are really talented, and the vibe is super comfortable and relaxed and cute and fun and warm and cooool I always felt calm and happy every time I came here. I really hope this studio gets even more love and maybe becomes a chain someday🧙🏼♂️ so I can keep coming even when I move to a different city. If I ever move back to Manchester, this would definitely be the first place I’d return to🫰
I learnt so much at 7 Limes Pottery! I signed up for a beginners course as a complete novice, nearly 30 years after I first thought I’d like to try pottery (but work, children and life had got in the way). Jo is a brilliant tutor, put me at my ease, encouraged me to be creative, and I loved it. I did all three beginners courses and then joined a regular class, where there’s still plenty of support available. My favourite make is my leaf fruit dish, which brings me joy every day! I’ve made plenty of other items, including a few others to put fruit in! And if ever I wanted to do something straightforward, I would make a bird and experiment with different glazes. Thank you Sam and Jo for making the pottery such a great place to learn and so much fun! Five stars are not enough.
