Bristol Pottery Workshops

My wife and I attended the 2 hour pottery workshop followed by the glazing workshop. It was really enjoyable to learn the technique and experiment with the clay / finishes. Berni keeps it cool and casual which made us feel at ease straightaway - a great intro for total beginners and we came away with some snazzy lil' tapas bowls

Highly recommend this ! I had such a great day. The teaching is great and very friendly, suitable for complete beginners or those that want to revive some long lost skills like me. Melanie quickly got me throwing again and I was amazed by what I achieved. I got to make lots of pots and choose the best to fire and glaze later.

The throwing and hand-building course was absolutely fantastic! Everyone had such a wonderful time learning, experimenting, and building their skills. Bernie’s knowledge, attentiveness, and free spirit created an environment where nothing felt limited—she encouraged creativity while always being available to offer guidance and support in shaping individual work. Took my daughter here for a pottery workshop. We had so much fun together. The space is relaxed and intimate, friendly teacher and very helpful. Would love to return again and highly recommend to starters and more advance people

I did a 4hr taster course with Berni in June and thoroughly THOROUGHLY enjoyed every minute. Berni's teaching style is relaxed, encouraging and bursting with knowledge and experience. She encouraged us all to relax into the creating and try not to concentrate too hard on technique; it was very mindful. I was absolutely thrilled with my little pots and thrilled again to be reunited with them post firing. What a bonus to have them fired AND glazed! I would love to attend more classes or do a course in the future and can't recommend enough.

I have done two 7-week pottery courses with Berni and had the best time. The courses are very complete, from hand building with many techniques to using the potter's wheel as well as a glazing session. Berni as a teacher is fantastic, the group is small so you have lots of individual attention and feedback, she's very patient and encouraging and always helps you come up with ideas of what you want to make. I had never done pottery before and I learned loads. On top of that all her sessions are very affordable, and you can fire and keep whatever pieces you have made. I highly recommend her classes, I would be joining the course again if I wasn't moving!

Just finished my 3rd pottery course with Berni, I can’t stress enough how much fun I have had with these classes. Berni is an excellent teacher, super encouraging and extremely talented, I would definitely recommend!
