Just got back from a wonderful Raku workshop run by Karen and Claire from Eastbourne Studio Pottery. Friendly and informative teachers, nice range of glazes, lovely lunch provided. Highly recommended! Thanks ladies, I’ll see you again!
A fantastic place! The staff are incredibly nice, accommodating and knowledgeable. The facilities are top-notch and very accessible to all ages and levels of ability. I went to a taster session on a Saturday morning and it was excellent. Incredible value for money and genuinely good fun. And, you get to keep the best thing you make! Fired and glazed in the following days after your session and ready to collect once they reach out to you, inviting you to return to collect your items. The session was a really good length, about three hours but it ran over, no strict time which is nice and a tea break halfway through (included in the cost) whilst you swap what you're doing. It's half "throwing" on a potters wheel, half pinch pottery. Both were very enjoyable with instructions but freedom to make what you wanted. Can thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants to try pottery, this place. 11 out of 10!! Go now, have fun, and make an object you will treasure for ever!
Amazing friendly community with tutors that happily share their knowledge and experience. Great place for beginners and advanced. Can’t recommend enough, the taster day was our gateway fix to a new hobby that my husband and I enjoy.
We go regularly to classes at Eastbourne Studio Pottery and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the quality of the teachers. Last weekend we went to a raku workshop for the day and had a fabulous time. The workshop was well organised and fun. The lunch was absolutely delicious and it was great to meet some fellow potters. Fair to say that everybody was pleased with the pots that they produced during the day. An excellent day and we hope to do some more raku work with ESP soon!
Attended a raku workshop last weekend at the amazing new raku outdoor studio near the allotments. There were other potters who regularly use ESP but many who travelled from further away. Karen and Claire were fantastic tutors. We learnt all about the different ways to fire the raku way. Some of us took our own pots and others bought pots from the studio which we then glazed. A delicious lunch and snacks were all part of our day. I can't wait to do more raku and would definitely recommend this studio of friendly people.
I really enjoy my Tuesday morning class with Karen! I have been hand building and sculpting with clay for many years, but have discovered new creative challenges and continue to learn more. The pottery is particularly well organised, well equipped and with a welcoming atmosphere. Can thoroughly recommend, especially to those who might be daunted by "playing with clay"!
A great studio space offering pottery classes, workshops and studio memberships for those wanting to use the space regularly. I’ve been a member there for two years and the facilities are excellent with such lovely staff running the studio and teaching classes. It’s a really lovely space to work in!
