Super day with Holly foraging for clay and making Earth balls. Holly’s knowledge and experience shone through on the day. We enjoyed a delicious lunch together around the fire, chatted and enjoyed each others company whilst honing our craft. Thanks Holly.
I had such a great time learning how to hand build pottery with Holly at the Wonki Pot. She is a wonderful teacher and explained everything really well. I am always a bit nervous about group classes, but it seems there was no need, as the class was a relaxed and friendly. I am definitely going to be returning. Thank you!
I had the joy of attending a summer evening class at Holly's studio. It was the first time we'd met and I'm a wizened workshop facilitator. Sitting on the other side and being led by Holly, to play, to intuit, to craft with clay, was a total delight from start to finish (which she kindly extended, allowing me to finish). She knows the art of hospitality, ensuring we were comfortable and at ease, before sharing her in depth knowledge generously with us all. I highly recommend her classes and can't wait to continue my journey with ceramics.
Thank you Holly for a wonderfully Wonki experience! I signed up for the 4 session wild clay course and it completely exceeded my expectations. Holly has such a lovely, welcoming and generous energy, constantly sharing her knowledge of clay and tips and tricks of how to work with it. The first session was hosted outdoors exploring a local woodland area where we spent the day foraging for clay and eating a delicious meal made by Holly. The next 3 sessions were hosted in her Hastings studio and we learnt how to shape pots, bowls and mugs, how to make natural glazes from ash and were taught all about the kiln process. I’m so happy with the pieces I produced and will definitely be returning and recommending Holly’s studio to friends.
I had the total pleasure of doing the candle lit pottery class last night. Holly has created a really warm, inviting and quite magical place. The gentle light meant everyone could just relax and enjoy what they were doing without being over anxious. Everyone was keen to take another class because it was such fun. And Holly’s teaching style is relaxed whilst being being fully informed when asked questions. She put everyone at ease. Totally recommend.
I love attending Holly’s drop-in pottery days. She is the kindest, most generous person you could hope to meet. She willingly shares her knowledge, even though the sessions are not ‘classes’ and is always happy to help if I get stuck (literally sometimes). Simply the best!!
I attended Holly's sagar firing course in summer 2023. It was a very tranquil, calming and beautiful space; I found it really interesting all the materials we used and worked with that we can find everyday in nature. I liked that Holly is a professional working artist and this is the studio she works in. Holly was very knowledgable and generous in her sharing of ideas and methods. I loved some of the pieces I made, one of which I incorporated some of my elderly dog's fur into!
