Can't recommend Old Stables highly enough. I came to pottery a complete beginner and within the first half term had produced some pieces that I'm still really happy with. The approach Edyn takes with learning how to throw and glaze is really well-paced and it's very clear that she's got a wealth of experience as a teacher. I've been going for a couple of years now and have seen how anyone who joins a class and sticks with it is able to find a way to thrive and develop their own style. Being able to learn to throw in such a calm and relaxed environment has been invaluable to me and has been a big part of improving my mental health the last couple of years.

I've been coming to the Old Stables Studio for pottery classes and have loved learning all about wheel throwing and how to organise a studio here. Edyn has an absolute wealth of knowledge, and is completely invested by the process and always curious to learn more/try new things. She has taught me so much - not just throwing, but about the glazes, kilns, reclaiming clay, organising the space. Can't recommend the Old Stables Studio enough. We had the most wonderful weekend at the pottery studio. I can say hands down Edyn is the best pottery teacher I have ever met. Her passion for her craft and experience as a teacher made learning a new skill extremely enjoyable and satisfying. Her kindness and positivity were as much appreciated as her tasty soups and warm welcome. I would recommend Edyn's classes to anyone who is keen to get into pottery or improve their skills. This was a 'birthday surprise' from my wife and we both attended the 'Weekend on the Wheel' course this weekend. It was great fun! Unusual to be able to spend so much time, as beginners, on a potter's wheel, our small group of 8 were soon developing throwing skills. We all loved it! A great location, & Edyn, the course tutor, is friendly & patient. We were made to feel extremely welcome by everyone & the hearty, healthy lunches & access to tea, biscuits & mince pies was a real bonus. We are really looking forward to returning to collect our 'masterpieces' ...

Edyn is a great tutor and the studio is well equipped. I have not only improved my throwing skills I have also learned so much about how to organize my workspace and get the most out of materials.
