I’ve just completed the 10-week pottery course at Cup Ceramics, and it was absolutely first class. The course covers all aspects of pottery, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see and use the pieces you create. Nothing was ever too much trouble—Rose and Amy were patient, supportive, and guided us every step of the way. Starting in week one felt a little daunting, but by week two we were well underway and confidence grew quickly. You’re free to set your goals as high or as relaxed as you like. If you’ve ever thought about giving pottery a try, this course is a must. Excellent value for a 10-week course.

I attended CUP's one day course.... my only gripe is I had to leave!! : ) Wonderful studio and cafe. Warm friendly people. The course was thoughtfully put together and taught. It was the perfect intro to pottery with slab work and then also let loose on the wheels. A delicious lunch too... Catered very thoughtfully to me being gluten free too with one of the best cakes I have ever had, shame i didnt take a photo!! Many thanks to Pat and Col for such a wonderful day. I hope to be back!

Today I’ve been on the One day intensive course with Rose, wow what fun I had. We spent the morning on the wheel and made a few vessels! You get the hang of it quickly and feel confident to scrape the naff pots (the chuck it bucket is your friend) We then cleaned down the wheel and lunch was made, yummy toasties and tasty cake. Then to hand building everyone made something different from the same amount of clay. We had some time left so had a go at plate making! The day went so quickly and all the staff are so inspiring and happy to share their knowledge.

I did a half day pottery class. A mixture of wheel and free form. It was great fun and very good value for money. Taught by very friendly tutor.

My mum loved her course and now has a lovely set of dishes made with her own fair hand. She also enjoyed the social making new friends each week.

I have done a couple of courses with CUP, and the teaching is brilliant. I have leant a lot. Friendly environment and patient tutors. I shall continue to look for new and interesting courses. By the way the food is great too!

Cup Ceramics is a wonderful, welcoming place for members and non-members alike. I did a one day taster session in early 2022 and came back since for several fun public events like raku day and the Christmas market. They are also really great with kids. My 5 year old loved his first throwing attempt. By the way, Cup also serve great coffee, cake and toasties at their café.
