Max's Pottery

I was one of Max’s first students and I had no prior experience with pottery. Over the course of our lessons I have moved from making small espresso cups to large bowls and it has been such a wonderful hobby! Max combines craft with humour and patience — something that I needed as I began working with larger pieces of clay. I have grown to love pottery so much and while my pieces may be imperfect all my family loved them as gifts this year! Definitely would recommend Max as a teacher and pottery as a fantastic pass time!

I recently bought a piece of pottery from Max’s pottery and I’m genuinely blown away by the craftsmanship. The quality, weight and finish of the piece are exceptional, and you can really feel the care and skill that’s gone into making it. It’s now one of my favourite items at home. The service was brilliant from start to finish — friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the work. I’d highly recommend his pottery to anyone looking for something unique, beautifully made, and built to last

Max is lovely! Passionate and friendly, he really cares about his work. I bought one of his snack bowls and honestly use it all the time 😍 sturdy, very well made, and also dilligently packed with recyclable materials. I keep an eye on his Etsy as I know I'll be buying again! Thank you!

Cannot compliment every element of my purchase enough! The pics here are great but they don't do the item enough justice! Seeing this pottery in person is so much better than merely through pics. The quality and workmanship is outstanding and I'm in love with the rustic design. Huge thanks, you'll definitely have a repeat customer in me!

We had such a great time with Max. We were greeted with a quick get to know over a cup of tea and max wanted to understand our experience with clay (which was none). Max is a great teacher and has a great style of teaching, showing and then allowing us to shape the clay etc but with a little bit of guidance where needed and also telling us to how correct our mistakes as opposed to fixing himself which was really cool. I can’t speak highly enough of the experience, 2 of us went from having 0 experience with pottery making to having to pieces of work to be dried and fired and coloured by Max to be picked up in a few weeks. I would highly recommend pottery making with Max, thanks again, we had a great time, Jake & Karen

Max is an excellent teacher! He is patient, encouraging and passionate about pottery. I feel inspired and de-stressed after each lesson, and excited for the next one!

Really happy with my hand crafted bowl. Arrived safely and looks good on display. Other items look great too, so may pick some up as gifts.
