I never normally take the time to write my words down but I just wanted to say on behalf of everyone we had an absolutely incredible day despite the months of grumbling from members of the party. The space felt like home whereby everyone could enjoy making pots or making their own drinks and I feel like you have to feel a good level of comfort to be able to do this in a strangers home. George is a fantastic teacher and I came back wondering how she was spinning so many plates by keeping an eye on everyone and guiding them without breaking a sweat, clearly she is an expert in her field! George's warmth, wholesomeness and winsome way will be remembered for a long time and we are all very much looking forward to our finished products whenever they will be ready. Thank you George!

I've never done any pottery before I started on the Beginners 5 week course - I'm talking zero exprience and two left, non artsy hands, and have stuck around since! Do not be intimidated - everyone will be on the same boat as you! The groups are small - the studio has only 4 wheels, so you has extra attention and continuous support throughout the course. Everything is very clearly shown by George, she's super patient and hands on - you will get help as soon as you need it as she's constantly walking around offering support. Every lesson she'll introduce something new for you to learn, and due to small class sizes she's able to tailor the lesson to accommodate. George is very approachable, friendly and has can do attitude. If you come up with an idea, she'll do her best to teach you how you can get there. The studio has a variety of glazes, underglaze, slips, transfers... you can beautifully decorate your creations after you've turned them. I'm now finishing course number 4 and am planning to come back again after summer ends!

My partner and I went to Iremia pottery today, a birthday gift, yes we had to wait for a suitable date BUT we were not disappointed it was great FUN and brilliant. We were made so welcome by Georgina and we were able to make 3 items!! Thank you Georgina 😊 🙏 💓

I've just finished a 5 week beginners pottery course at Iremia Pottery. I've wanted to try pottery for such a long time and I was lucky enough to receive a gift voucher for this course. I've had an absolutely wonderful time learning how to throw, finish and glaze my creations! George is such a fabulous teacher. She's very friendly and approachable but also extremely experienced having taught in academia for many years, and this shows in her coaching approach to teaching pottery. I really liked that the class was a maximum of 4 people so George was able to dedicate time with us all to get the most out of our experience. Although she is very supportive, she's very keen that as a learner it's all our own work and she doesn't jump in to correct mistakes, instead she guides us to learn from mistakes and adapt our pieces ourselves. She also teaches the correct pottery techniques at the beginners level, rather than taking short cuts just to make the process easier. By doing this the learner is building a solid foundation to take their pottery to the next level. The pottery studio is well equipped with everything you could ever need! So many glazes and plenty of cups of tea! After my 5 weeks I'm absolutely hooked! I've already booked my next course and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Iremia Pottery for anyone looking for pottery lessons

I went on the taster course with my mom and sister as they both love Throw Down. Georgie was an excellent teacher, able to nurture and support our varying skill levels so we all came away with something to be proud of. And the tea was lovely 😀 I found the process really quite relaxing.... I could quite happily sit there for hours making the cones. Give it a go.

George is an amazing teacher. I did a beginners course in January 2024 and have been going on various other courses ever since. She is such a patient teacher and makes every class so much fun. It’s a wonderful way to relax while learning a new skill.

Took my team at work for a team building activity. There were 6 of them, they all had a few goes on the wheel and all came away with more than 1 pot! They loved it! Georgina is a fantastic teacher and made it a really fun afternoon - would HIGHLY recommend! Really reasonable price as well compared to other pottery studios.
