I went to the sketching club on Liverpool's Light Night, when they were open to the public for the evening. The members were very friendly and welcoming and made myself and the friends I was with feel comfortable with finding a seat and sketching the model who was sitting for us. A near silent room filled with strangers is not a naturally comfortable place to me so this was no small thing. We stayed for some time, and I found the whole experience very relaxing and enjoyable and it has kickstarted my artistic side.
This 147year old art club provides a warm and friendly environment for any-one interested in painting and drawing. I sit for a portrait class but there are also life classes and member's choice classes. Further information is on the club's web site.
Great experience. Kind of hard to find the first time if you're not sure where you're going, it's room 21 on the 2nd floor. There's a lift
Lots of art classes to attend, with some really good artists, as a life model it's a great place to pose
Excellent life drawing and portrait groups run throughout the week. Check their website for more details
Loved it just disappointed I couldn't make it this week but I will go back and try some of the weekly classes too.
