Katherine Staples Ceramics

I’ve been attending classes with Katherine since 2020; starting as a complete novice and convinced I wouldn’t be any good at it. I had always wanted to try working with clay and decided to "be brave" and give it a go. My first classes with Katherine were perfect for a beginner giving me a taste of different techniques and detailed instructions for my first projects. Since that time I have been able to continue developing my skills and it is the happiest 2 hours of my week to be in a group of like minded individuals creating. It’s inspiring to be around them and watching them create too. Since moving to Wymondham, Katherine has been able to bring in more instructors to bring specialist expertise to the classes and I love getting to learn new techniques from them. It’s also been truly inspiring to see the beautiful works on display in the gallery and well worth a look if you want an individual item for your home or a one of a kind gift. All together, it’s a friendly, welcoming space to learn and have fun and I highly recommend being brave and giving it a try like I did. I haven’t looked back!

Had a lovely couple of hours with family today having a go at pottery for the first time. Katherine is lovely, very patient ☺️ and helpful. Would highly recommend Katherine Staples Ceramics for a fun time.

Had a 2 hour taster session with Amy on Saturday. The experience was amazing. Amy was very helpful and knowledgable and gave very clear instructions. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be going again!

Started with a 6 week taster, where you try all the different types of techniques, pinch pots, wheel throwing, slab building, then you glaze your own, pots are fired and you can collect. It's a great way to get started. Have continued with regular 6 week sessions, find it a really creative and friendly environment with guidance to help you achieve what you want to. Lovely location at the windmill too, with a cute little gallery selling some lovely pieces by local potters.

I have been having lessons with Katherine now for nearly 18 months for 2 hours on a Monday morning. Katherine has taught me so much and I absolutely love the time there but it always finishes far too quickly! I have met some great people and I couldn't recommend Katherine more - so go ahead and book some lessons too.....

Did a 6 week taster course with Katherine. She is a talented artist and a down to earth supportive teacher. We tried several methods of creating pottery and got to decorate our own pieces. Really recommend Katherine as her studio was welcoming and creating things was really good for the mind and soul!

What a great introduction to pot throwing. Our instructor Amy was very patient and encouraged us all along the way, with pretty good results I thought. Highly recommended for an afternoon out, with lots of laughs to boot.
