Absolutely wonderful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rebecca was welcoming and super knowledgeable, and the studio had such a calm, creative vibe. I learned a ton, got my hands happily messy, and walked away with pieces I’m genuinely proud of. Perfect balance of guidance and freedom to experiment—can’t wait to come back!

I booked my husband and me in for the two-session wheel throwing and glazing with James at River Folk Pottery in Newport for our anniversary. Memories, tortured, awful memories of school art classes, re-surfaced as the first session approached, my husband and I both convinced that we had no intrinsic ability, no talent, no creativity. However, James, with his relaxed, patient, supportive, and confident style, coaxed something out of us both, something far exceeding our expectations, and despite it being only a taster session rather than a full course, we have walked away with three beautifully imperfect bowls and a spoon rest, inspired and very pleased to have tried something new. We have tried both the hand building with Rebecca and the wheel with James. They are both super knowledgeable and great teachers able to break down the process in a very easy to follow way that makes you feel at ease. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to try something new!

I've wanted to get into pottery for some time but always felt quite anxious about attending classes. Rebecca at Get Calm with Clay offered a fantastic 1-2-1 opportunity in which I felt supported and relaxed. Rebecca is very knowledgeable in all things clay and is a great (and patient) teacher. Get Calm with Clay is a great way to tap in to your creative side whilst achieving relaxation 😌 Thank you for my wonderful session, I can't wait to come back and glaze my spoon rest💕
