Vessel Ceramics Studio

I spent a weekend on a masterclass by Jane Sheppard at Vessel Ceramics. I was made to feel welcome straight away. Jilly has created a well equipped, light and inspiring place to make ceramics. We were given superb advice and instruction plus a wonderful homemade lunch and cakes. I will definitely be returning! Thank you Jilly and Caroline.

Vessel is a beautiful and exciting place to see and make ceramics. Jilly Russell who runs it is a great teacher, hugely generous with her knowledge and resources. I spent a wonderful weekend doing a Masterclass with ceramicist Chris Keenan who was a superb teacher - and really great fun! I learned so much from him, and from Jilly, and made some new friends. Don't hesitate to book a class - it's a really outstanding studio in every regard.

I experienced a two-hour session making porcelain Christmas decorations, and what a heartwarming experience it was. Jilly of Vessel Ceramics gave a warm welcome in a toasty warm studio. Everything was laid out in readiness for two hours of creative fun. Jilly is an excellent, patient and knowledgeable teacher. We were given guidance on crafting our masterpieces before being plied with hot drinks and mince pies. I thoroughly enjoyed every second. Thanks Jilly.

Had a really productive morning with Jilly at Vessel. Great one-one support for my throwing stumbling blocks. A lovely clean, light and airy space to work in and a great gallery/sales area downstairs with some beautiful pieces on offer. Highly recommend a visit or a class.

I recently did a one-day clay experience workshop with Jilly. It was wonderful. The studio is stunning (it’s pretty much brand new). Jilly is a wonderful teacher who really encouraged us to have a go at this new medium. Time flew by, I didn’t want to stop. I will definitely be back for another class with Jilly.

I visited Vessel Ceramics for a taster throwing course. The course was interesting and fun and Jilli is both an excellent potter and an excellent teacher. She is very patient and understanding. I intend to follow up with a longer course and I would recommend this pottery to anyone interested in giving it a go or wishing to improve or practise pottery courses.

Fantastic course with Chris Keenan - thank you Jilly for hosting such a brilliant weekend throwing with porcelain. Joyful, informative and nurturing - I learned so much, Chris was incredibly generous with his time, his meticulous demonstrations and lots of great tips.
