Mags Pottery

I did the five week course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mags and Matt were excellent, patient and fun teachers. Thanks to them both I have returned to ceramics after a 48 year gap. They totally rekindled my enthusiasm and I now have a perfect retirement hobby! With their help I was also able to glaze a very large "cauldron" which was the last thing I made all those years ago and never completed. I'm also delighted with what I made during the course. My son gave me a beginners pottery lesson with him as a Christmas present. It was a complete delight. Mags was a very good teacher indeed - patient and clear with her instructions and demonstrations. We enjoyed ourselves so much and are chuffed to bits with the bowls we made and glazed.

My family and I had a beginners pottery session with Mags in April. As an activity for my birthday. Mags was a great tutor and helped us with making four bowls. It was a very enjoyable session. Fast forward to a couple of months later and Mags has sent us our fired and glazed creations. We are so happy with how they have turned out and it is a beautiful memory to share as a family. Thanks again Mags!

We attended the 5 week course together and had a wonderful time. Mags and Matt were patient and wonderful teachers. The learning has been steep but progressively getting better. We have really enjoyed going back to the studio to glaze and throw following the course and although not every session is a success (that’s ceramics and not Mags teaching) it’s always a welcoming and stimulating session spent with other creative people. 100% recommend to absolute novice, first timers and those with some experience, like my wife (Art teacher).

I thoroughly enjoyed a one-to-one complete beginners pottery session with Mags on Saturday and amazingly created two bowls without too much mess or chaos...great fun! Mags was very patient, calm and explained everything thoroughly then talked me through every stage whilst I created my bowls. An amazing studio and I am feeling very inspired and looking forward to the glazing session. Many thanks Mags, and also to my son and his wife for giving me the wonderful surprise gift voucher.

I did the beginners course back in March, and Mags and Matt were fantastic teachers. They demonstrate everything step-by-step and support you throughout the whole process of making your pots. They’re both incredibly patient and relaxed, which makes the experience really enjoyable. The atmosphere is calming too, with soft music and a lovely, mindful space that helps you fully unwind.
