Carol Foster Ceramics

Another long-overdue Whitstable review! I’ve been an enthusiastic (and picky….) ceramics student for 25+ years. Ms Foster is the real deal. She doesn’t hover, but gives you space to do your thing; steps in and coaches when necessary and requested. She also provides biscuits and tea which is just above and beyond! Very cool atmosphere; I wasn’t able to pick up my pieces as I was in the midst of moving. Ms Foster was kind enough to send me pics of my finished, fired and glazed pieces, which was incredibly kind. Would go back in a heartbeat!!

My wife and I spent a wonderful afternoon with Carol and her son learning the basics of pottery throwing using the wheel. The class was amazing, both in how it was delivered by Carol, and we had great fun! Small groups of 4 with a wheel each, great demonstrations, and we’ve walked away with a real enthusiasm to return again for a second go. No experience needed, Carol patiently shows her amazing skill, and helped us create something within a couple of hours that looked half decent! I received this experience as a Christmas voucher… a wonderful and different present that I will remember for a long time! Thank you Carol 😊

Really enjoyed my first lesson on the wheel , Carol is a marvelous teacher explaining the whole process of making bowls and demonstrating giving lots of help and advice .Really recommend Carol.

Had the most amazing, relaxing but educational day with Carol and four of my mum friends this weekend. Cannot rate this experience high enough x Carol is so passionate, patient and encouraging (we weren't all naturals) can not wait to collect our creations in a couple of weeks. thank you so much xxxxx
