I attended Iona's 6 week beginner pottery class with 2 friends in Jan and February. We had such a lovely time and are really sad it's nearly over! Iona is a wonderful teacher, she is so engaging in her demos but gives you the freedom to just do your own thing whilst always being on hand to guide you when needed. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending taking a course or a taster day but be warned you will definitely want to go back for more! It makes me fully appreciate her work when you look around the pottery she has made to just how many steps of precision work it takes to make beautiful piecesof pottery. Good luck Iona and Aaron with Studio 573. You deserve all the success.x
We had the most wonderful time at the intro to the wheel class. Iona was a great teacher with lots of patience and enthusiasm. I found the whole thing incredibly therapeutic and calming - can’t wait to see how my pots turned out!
Me and my partner did a taster class for Valentine's Day. We've never done pottery before so don't know what to expect but lona and Aaron made the class fun and engaging whilst teaching us throwing. We got to practice three times with lona's input when requested but she allowed us to shape the pots as we wanted with the 'best' one we could keep. lona even added small touches with a chocolate heart for Valentine's Day. The shop is beautiful, we got to see lona's work station and the stunning pottery she makes. We would definitely do another class, thank you both
Lovely morning playing with clay and making a simple pot on the wheel. Well organised, well supplied with equipment, and well taught. a fabulous morning!
What a wonderful morning. Came out buzzing after my 2 hour session, Iona is a great teacher very clear and patient as she guides you step by step on how to create your masterpiece, really enjoyed every moment and can't wait to get my pieces back when they've been fired.
Great clear instruction, good fun and the pots turned out OK. Overall very please and recommend you have go.
I attended a two hour taster session at Studio 573 on Saturday 25th April. Iona and Aaron were wonderful hosts and Iona a great teacher. I even managed to make a couple of pieces in that time that I am happy with. I cannot recommend Studio 573 enough. If you have a passing interest in pottery, go and join them for the taster session.
