SHELLEY WOOD STUDIO

Classes with Shelley changed my life! Her gentle support allows you to follow your own direction in a uniquely positive, friendly environment. I have never encountered such generosity in technical knowledge and firing (having worked at several other shared studios). Absolutely all levels of experience are welcomed and respected and treated equally - another rarity. I look forward to my workshops here so much and can’t recommend them highly enough. Over the space of just over a year I went from relatively inexperienced newbie to beginning to sell my work. Thank you Shelley - you have created a special place. X

I recently attended a workshop with Shelley with my work colleagues for a work well-being day. Shelley was warm and welcoming and the studio was a wonderful relaxing space. Shelley took her time explaining the process with us but also gave us space for our own creativity. It was a wonderful way to connect with colleagues and have some down-time out of work. Would highly recommend to any teams looking for an away day activity to connect and restore. Thank you Shelley!

Shelley is super welcoming, warm and friendly as are her sessions. You get support to understand how clay works but you get to relax, experiment and create, with advice if you want or need it. Fully recommend!

Shelley is such a talent and very generous with her knowledge and time. Her classes are fun and relaxed with no pressure to be perfect. You are free to take the clay where it wants to go while having expert guidance when needed. Almost reluctant to recommend in fear of the classes getting too popular 😆😆 Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to Shelley’s ceramics workshops for over a year now, and it’s been an incredible journey! She always introduces us to new techniques and encourages creativity in whatever we want to make. Her guidance has given me the confidence to explore new ideas, and I love seeing the inspiring pieces from her students, other ceramicists she admires and things she’s working on. Handbuilding is my favourite and I enjoy crafting unique gifts for friends and family. Shelley’s passion and support truly make every session special!

We booked a taster pottery session to celebrate our ninth wedding anniversary (pot!). Shelley was brilliant from initial communication, through to the session itself, and then afterwards when we collected our finished items. We loved that Shelley encouraged us to pursue our own creativity, thinking about what we’d like to make, and the design. This felt extremely bespoke and the fact the session was individual for ourselves made it a special and comfortable experience. We would highly recommend having a go if you’ve never tried something like this.

Wonderful afternoon with friends at Shelley's studio. Shelley made the taster session fun and relaxed but so informative, resulting in lots of unique finished products. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone!
