Pottery Galiano: A Fantastic Place to Learn and Grow! I recently completed an 8-week pottery course at Pottery Galiano in Brighton, and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I walked in, Roberto and Marcella made me feel incredibly welcome. They are genuinely lovely people who create a warm and supportive atmosphere. Roberto is a brilliant instructor. He patiently showed me the basics to get started, and within the 8 weeks, I felt truly confident in my throwing skills. It was impressive to see how he effortlessly moved around the studio, providing individual guidance and support to everyone, regardless of their experience level. Whether someone was just starting out or working on more advanced techniques, Roberto was there to help them progress. Even though I've gained so much confidence, I know there's still a lot more to learn, so I will book another 8-week course. Pottery Galiano offers great value for money, and the studio itself is a lovely, inspiring space to get creative. If you're looking to learn pottery in Brighton, this is definitely the place to go!

I have been visiting Pottery Gagliano for a year now, and I can say from the bottom of my heart that it has been a truly a life-changing experience. The studio doesn’t just deliver calm, kind and unrivalled expertise from tutors and studio techs, and the sense of calm and creative fulfilment this hobby has brought to so many like myself who enrol on the courses and visit the open studio, but it also gifts a wonderful vibrant community for all who attend – a welcoming safe space from the fast-paced lives so many of us lead. I have just enrolled on my fourth wheel course with Roberto, and have enjoyed many of the masterclasses the studio offers: saggar firing, raku firing, human sculpture, animal sculpture, with the Alberto Bustos masterless coming up too. Whether you’re a beginner or want a place to advance your skills, Pottery Gagliano is the studio for you.

Review for pottery Gagliano’s Anything is possible is Roberto’s mantra. I have heard him say this on numerous occasions during my association with Pottery Gagliano. I started on my pottery journey well over 10 years ago and was determined as someone who had neither touched clay before nor have a natural ability to create in clay, to learn to to throw. Through Roberto’s patience and expertise I have begun to throw more consistently. During this time, I have attended many of his courses which have all been so informative and Roberto has always been so generous with his knowledge. I love the atmosphere of the open studio. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I have just started throwing with Roberto’s own clay. It is magic. It feels so smooth and pulls so easily. I feel so lucky to be part of this special pottery family

I love this place! Roberto and Marcella are so friendly and welcoming. I have done many courses there and attended the open studio. Ive learned so much and felt supported at every stage. Its incredibly good value for money and all the instructors have had a wealth of experience. I especially like the diversity of professional potters who they get in to teach one off classes. Thank you to Alberto Busto and Roland Stevenson for their time and patience.

I love coming here. It’s a wonderful place to come and make something - no matter your level of experience. There’s a lovely community of potters to chat with and very skilled, patient studio leads and teachers to guide you. If you’ve thought of giving pottery a go, I can’t think of a better place to do it. I thought I’d update this review as I’ve just finished the animal and human bust sculpture courses with Roland Stevenson. Both were one day courses. For someone who’s never sculpted he really helped me learn so much in a short time. He’s a phenomenal sculptor AND brilliant at passing on skills in a pragmatic generous way. These courses are excellent value for money based on my research so well worth checking out before they quite rightfully go up in price! You’d be hard pressed to find a more experienced sculptor to learn from.

On Sunday I attended a a Throwing Masterclass with Roberto and it did not disappoint. Roberto's demonstrations are detailed and captivating and his advice and guidance helped me and the other potters on the day take our work to the next level. Not just throwing a lot larger - but better and with more confidence and understanding of the importance of each stage of the crafting process. Thanks Pottery Gagliano for providing such a unique supportive space for potters young and old!
