Zed Alley Clayhouse

We booked with Zed Alley Clayhouse as part of our team day back in November and we couldn't recommend them enough. There was quite a lot of us so it was a bit chaotic! But they were amazing with splitting us off and teaching us the basics and talking us all through. They had plenty of time for us all. Our pots/vases/mugs came out beautiful and we are all so pleased with the outcome. The space was great and it felt really nice to come together as a team and do something different!

Absolutely beautiful calming studio in the heart of the city. I had a taster wheel throwing session and loved every minute! I didn’t think of anything else during the time there - this is a truly mindful activity. The teacher was brilliant - patient, helpful and informative. with support we all managed to complete all of the stages of wheel throwing a pot. It was so great I went on to do two 6 week courses and am about to start my third! Every teacher has been brilliant & the owners of the studio are so lovely and helpful - I will look to membership after the next course as I can’t imagine not going anymore. A real treat, I’d highly recommended!

I did the six week wheel throwing course with Nick and I loved it. The facilities are great and everyone is really friendly. Nick was a great teacher and I came away with pottery made all by myself to show for it, after starting as a complete beginner. The way the course is taught, makes sure you can do every part of the process from start to finish. Highly recommend Nick, the course and Zed Alley as a studio.

A lovely space and brilliant teaching from Rebecca during the one-day workshop in wheel-throwing. Well paced and really pleased with what we made. Would highly recommend!

We had a small group (8 people) outing for teambuilding. We had a blast. The team at Zed Alley were great to work with on planning and running the pottery workshop. Everyone had a great time, great conversation and we actually made some cool stuff.

I recently took part in the 6-Week 'Wheel Throwing Course for Beginners' after aspiring to give pottery a go for many years and cannot recommend the experience enough! Our teacher, Emma, was friendly, patient and kind - ensuring that each member of our 6-person class received 1-2-1 teaching and advice as we progressed each week. Emma is a skilled potter and learning from her has been an absolute pleasure. Owners, Ali and Damian are a lovely presence in the studio and were regularly on site to give an encouraging word of advice. I have since joined the studio as a member and have seen my throwing skills and confidence improve steadily since. The studio technicians are also always friendly and happy to advise on anything you might need. As a neurodivergent individual - the members studio presents a calm and quiet place that is easy to concentrate in and does not become overwhelming. I find my sessions to be the time in my week that I can relax and let go of some stress, and the vibe of the studio really helps in making that possible. It's clear that lots of love and effort has gone into making this space so beautiful and calm. 🙂

Just attending a fabulous introductory workshop on throwing and using the wheel. Top quality tuition in a purpose designed beautiful studio. Ideal as a present or gift idea, learning a new skill , having fun and enhancing your wellbeing. I cannot recommend it enough. Brilliant team- thanks
