We booked a hand building pottery class for my friend’s hen party, and we all absolutely loved it. Zoe was so accommodating and was so generous with her time and knowledge! My friend said she couldn’t have picked a better activity, so thank you 🙂 we can’t wait to collect our mugs! Grace and the rest of the hens x

I've just done my beginners 6 week throwers course and it was great fun and I've come away much improved on my first efforts. Amy and Tanya are very welcoming and great teachers. This is a great place to learn!

We organised this in advance for a special 80th birthday surprise. There were 11 of us for the afternoon and we had Zoe and Tanya showing us how to make a bowl using the potters wheel and how to make a pot. They were both extremely friendly, helpful and patient. This is a community benefit company, not for profit, providing a facility for local potters and sculptors. Would highly recommend giving them a try!

Having enjoyed the introductory pottery throwing course with my husband, I decided to organise a group introductory course for my friends. The Potthouse Collective is amazing, from the initial contact and communication to ensure the right experience and then when on site, the teacher is just brilliant, giving each person the attention they need to achieve a piece to be proud of. What is more, the teacher remembered me and helped me develop further and even told me my next steps for when I return again. It was so lovely to collect our pieces once glazed, we all had something great to show for our morning at the wheel. I can't recommend the Potthouse Collective highly enough and definitely plan to return.

I took part in the 6 weeks beginners throwing course in the summer 2025 and it was absolutely fantastic! Amy was patient, great at explaining the process and helping everyone individually. I cannot recommend the course more!!!

I spent the afternoon of my birthday in the beginners throwing workshop, it was really good fun and now we’ve got handmade pots in our home. Tanya was a great tutor, very helpful throughout, lovely small studio, the intimate group sizes are perfect for these classes. I would definitely recommend this workshop to others and would love to go again sometime.

I attended a handbuilding course last year which was such a great introduction for a beginner. The course covered lots of different techniques and gave me a good basic understanding of how to shape, join, dry, paint and glaze. I have since joined the Potthouse as an independent potter and love the freedom I have to make whatever takes my fancy. Zoe, Tanya and Amy are really knowledgeable and there is always someone on hand to give advice. The other independent potters are all really friendly and encouraging. Attending weekly pottery sessions is a great escape from life's stresses and is the highlight of my week!
