Can’t tell you a single bad thing about Sarah! I did the three day pottery throwing course and it was absolutely amazing. She’s gone above and beyond to help me learn and understand everything I needed to know to start my own studio. Very excited to start bringing my work in to fire and show her. If you’re questioning whether to do it or not, I urge you to do it, you won’t regret it. Such an amazing teacher, so glad I chose her! Also she has the cutest dogs to pet hehe 😉
I have been attending hand building classes with Sarah at Pottery Corner for 3 years now. They are the highlight of my week. I come away having had a chance to be creative and feel totally relaxed. Sarah is amazing at helping you create your best work. She has wonderful knowledge of clay and gives you lots of help, but she is also great at helping you develop your own ideas and creations. I have recently done a throwing course with her and as expected it was brilliant. Lots of new skills learnt!
Wow, what a great time I had on the pottery throwing 3 day course. Sarah was amazing, explained everything so clearly, showed us exactly what to do and encouraged me out of my comfort zone. I took one of my grandmother’s small vases, made over 50 years ago, as an example of the glazing effect I was hoping to achieve - Sarah went above and beyond to help me achieve this. I now have 4 fantastic dishes to enjoy and use. I will definitely be back for more! Thank you so much.
Having not done any pottery for over 30 years, I was rather nervous when my family signed me up for a 3 session throwing course. I didn’t need to have worried though as Sarah couldn’t have been more helpful or encouraging and it all came back to me. The sessions were really fun and relaxed and there is plenty of hands-on help as Sarah taught in a class of 2. There was even time for a chat over a cup of tea and cake. Thank you Sarah for a great experience and I look forward to collecting my fired pieces! If you are thinking of giving pottery a go, give Sarah a call and get signed up!
I received this pottery course for my birthday. Completed three sessions today with a friend. Aim of course to produce 3-4 pieces of pottery. What an amazing thing to experience. Sarah is a knowledgeable, friendly, clearly very talented lady. She encourages you even when the clay seems to have legs and goes off Piste! I would thoroughly recommend this experience particularly if you what to learn something new. Thank you Sarah for your incredible patience and ensuring we completed the overall aim of the course.
I have booked on 2x courses with Sarah as part of a group, and they have both been a great experience. Sarah is brilliant at explaining the techniques and splitting her time between the group members. I have learnt how to both throw on the wheel (a challenging but fun experience!) and hand build items. Both times I have managed to create beautiful pieces of pottery which I am extremely proud to have made myself. The cost of the courses are very reasonable taking into consideration the high quality of materials used, kiln firing, and Sarah's expertise. I would absolutely recommend The Pottery Corner for a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxed pottery experience. I will absolutely be returning again!
The 3 session throwing course was well paced to give time to develop skills in throwing, trimming and glazing. Sarah was able to share her time equally between the three of us, all of whom had differing levels of skill and prior experience, so that we all came away with new knowledge. I'm really looking forward to seeing the pieces which come out of the kiln and definitely want to continue learning. Very high quality tea and cakes too! Many thanks Sarah!
