Parkgate Pottery

My first time doing pottery properly, expecting a disaster… but a fun day! Thanks to Andy it was a total success and definitely fun. She’s a fantastic teacher, took time explaining the process and the pitfalls, and proof of what a great teacher she is? The beautiful bowls at the end. I love that Andy gives you a choice of lots of colours and finishes, absolutely in love with mine. The day was super relaxing, the small group makes it really enjoyable, and her home made cake (thank you for baking a gluten free one just for me!) was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Already planning a second visit with more friends. Her dates book ridiculously fast!

My husband and I had a fabulous morning learning how to use a pottery wheel to make our bowls, not just 1 but three bowls’s, all very different in shapes and sizes, the finished results and colours (you get to choose the colours you would like & collect them approx 5 weeks) were fabulous, we were thrilled and really good value for money too! Andy was a great teacher very clear in her teaching, patient and very hands on! We will definitely be back! As you can see my husband is now using one bowl for his cereal in the morning and they are dishwasher safe!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the three hour throwing course with Andy. Andy was so knowledgable and made us feel so at ease. We are delighted with how our pottery has turned out and we would love to come back! Thank you Andy! Lou and Mark x

What an immensley enjoyable morning with Andy. Her ability to instruct is only eclipsed by her talent with clay. She took us through the whole process and then let us loose with expert guidance. You will not spend a more enjoyable and satisfying 3 hours.... 100% recommended.

Really enjoyed the workshop - and very happy with the end result. Andy’s a very good teacher - friendly, patient and encouraging - she broke the whole process down into small steps and then guided us as we worked on the wheel. I wish I lived closer so I could attend her regular classes.

I had the pleasure of a 121 session with Andy recently. I had been ‘teaching’ myself pottery via YouTube during lockdown and has asked Andy about a class. During lockdown Andy was really encouraging and helpful with my pre lesson questions and the day itself was brilliant. Andy took me through the basics and then set me lose, ironing out my many kinks and bad habits / techniques resulting in a couple of nice looking bowls. I really can not recommend Andy’s teaching highly enough, I had a great fun day and learnt loads, the coffee, cake and delicious honey were an undoubted bonus.

Had a fabulous session with Andrea at Parkgate pottery. We were both absolute beginners - picture wobbly clay/wobbly hands but somehow in one morning Andrea taught us to make 3 amazing pieces each that look even better now they are fired. The studio is in a beautiful setting and Andrea is so knowledgeable and patient. Would thoroughly recommend having go.
