Pau Pottery Ceramic Studio

I’ve really enjoyed my pottery classes—it's a friendly, welcoming environment with a lovely studio space that makes you feel at ease right away. It’s also been great meeting new people each week. The teaching is excellent, with a style that encourages you to develop your own approach rather than just follow a formula. I found the explanations about different glazes especially informative, helping me understand how each finish works in practice. Once you’ve learned the basics, you’re free to create whatever you like, with help always available whenever you need it. It’s a perfect balance of guidance and independence. This has been a wonderful Christmas gift from my wife, and I’ve been able to bring home some really nice pieces.

What a lovely experience at Pau Pottery today. I treated my daughter in law for her birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed it - we had never had "a go " before but Paula was so patient and helpful- her Pottery studio is amazing- so welcoming and I would love to come back again. Can't wait to collect our pieces.

Absolutely amazing experience! I was frantically looking to do something fun and art themed for my daughter’s birthday and was pleasantly surprised to find Pau Pottery so close by and so we celebrated my daughter’s birthday with her girlfriends at Pau Pottery and am so glad we did.. it was such a beautiful experience and the girls had a great time! A special shout out to Paula who was able to accommodate my request at the last minute and made sure the girls had fun 🤩 P.S: I can’t wait to try my hand at pottery 😉

I recently took a beginner’s course at Pau Pottery, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I arrived with zero pottery skills, but the teaching was so clear, patient, and encouraging that I quickly felt right at home. The standard of both the artwork and the instruction is incredibly high. Paula has a real talent not only for creating beautiful ceramics but also for explaining techniques in a way that makes everything feel achievable—even when you don’t get it right the first time! I never once felt silly or out of my depth, which made the whole course so much more enjoyable. One of the things I loved most was the variety. We were able to try lots of different methods, including working on the wheel, and there was so much freedom to experiment and create pieces that felt personal and unique. The whole atmosphere was fun, relaxed, and inspiring. By the end, I’d made pieces I was genuinely proud of—and had a brilliant time doing it. I’d recommend Pau Pottery to anyone, whether you’re a total beginner like me or looking to develop your skills. A wonderful experience all round!

While pottery has been quite popular for a while, I have never been interested to try it. It didn’t seem like something I would like or have the patience for. Well, I was in for a surprise! I joined Paula’s classes twice this week, while in London on vacation. Paula graciously walked us through using the wheel as well as through making pottery by hand. Her patient guidance, along with the beautiful location and the wonderful atmosphere she has created in her studio made for such a great experience! Somewhere in the middle of it all, I forgot to worry about how ‘I don’t know what I am doing’, I’m not ‘good at these things’, and just generally overthinking. I fully relaxed and enjoyed the time, while actually creating something. I wish I lived close so I can come on a regular basis! I highly recommend it.

Pau Pottery is a beautiful and welcoming place. The studio is gorgeous, spacious and has a really comfortable vibe. Our beginner session there had us using clay both on and off the wheel, to get an experience using both. Paula was an incredibly helpful, patient and lovely teacher, who guided us through each step and made sure we were gained our desired outcome. We would love to return to see some of the advanced techniques!
