My two girls and I have enjoyed making things at Rachel’s pottery class a few times. We all love it! Rachel is calm and patient and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. We have made lots of brilliant things and we will visit again in future I’m sure! I think the value for money is excellent! You get expert tutoring, as well as lovely items to take away. We love it! Thank you Rachel! X
Spent a fabulous afternoon with Rachel at her home-based worksop/ studio on the outskirts of Sheffield looking out towards Derbyshire. I have no experience of pottery... The last time I used clay was about 55 years ago, when I made an ashtray at school 🙄😬.... However, I went with an open mind and found I really enjoyed working with it. We were shown how to roll out the clay and given a little information on types and qualities of clay. ( who knew!!!) Then upstairs to the main room where the walls were filled with pots, bowls, plates, lights and all kinds of pottery to give us inspiration !!! I decided on a fruit bowl. We then spent two hours pleasantly creating our 'works of art' under Rachel's expert guidance. She is easy to understand, friendly, and full of tips. No question is too stupid .... The tea coffee and biscuits flowed, as did the chatter !!! And new friends were formed. ( Groups of around 6 to 8 are the limit ) We came away feeling very relaxed and proud of our achievements. There is a return visit in a couple of weeks to paint and glaze our efforts. Then a third trip to collect our goods. I would highly recommend and even if you go alone I'm sure you'll find a great welcome and have an enjoyable time. I am lead to believe that more experienced potters are also welcome.
I booked this for me and my girlfriend having never done pottery before and I couldn’t recommend this enough. Rachel was very welcoming and friendly from the moment we got there showing us round her very nice studio and teaching about the ins and outs of how pottery is made. She was very knowledgeable and helpful and open to our ideas. She didn’t let us shy away from the challenge. We managed to make 2 pieces each and will be back to glaze them in a couple of weeks. Also can’t forget about her 2 amazing dogs and my favourite her cat called Kenny. She also makes a banging cuppa
Me and my wife came for our first pottery session and we absolutely loved it!! Rachel is absolutely amazing, so helpful and accommodating and makes you feel at home and makes the best cuppa. Has the cutest dogs & cat too. Stunning views and peaceful vibes, we are totally hooked! Thank you for the best time we will 100% be booking more sessions. Highly recommend to everyone!
We spent an afternoon with Rachel in her beautiful studio and had a great time. It was part of a hen do and the 9 of us were made to feel so welcome and had a lot of fun. It's a great group activity, and we were delighted with what we each achieved by the end of the session - starting as novices, but with Rachel's guidance all ending up with something lovely at the end, that will make a great keepsake after the wedding. The studio and surroundings are gorgeous, and Rachel's brownies are the best we've ever tasted!
I went to 2 of Rachel's pottery coffee mornings with a group of friends. We were all beginners, and I hadn't done any pottery since primary school. It was great fun and I can't believe how well my pots have turned out. Rachel is an excellent teacher and managed to give us all the confidence to make fabulous pots that we are proud of. She showed us how to make our items, helped us through the process and had lots of completed pots around the room to use for inspiration. I would definitely recommend Rachel's workshops, and am already thinking of going back for more.
I have been going to Rachel’s pottery sessions for a few months and I am addicted. Rachel is very knowledgable and loves to share what she knows. The group classes are great, friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a new hobby I would definitely recommend giving the classes a try. But be careful as you may find yourself with a new addiction too!
