Doodles - Pottery Painting

Cannot recommend enough! Doodles is such a lovely studio with really warm and welcoming staff. I’ve visited with a toddler before and they’ve been so kind and accommodating. I’ve also seen how wonderful they’ve been with other people’s children. They’re also such good value for money. I now bring all my friends here for pottery painting dates. You’d be very hard pressed to find a better studio around. I’ve recently moved to London and the local pottery painting couldn’t compare and I couldn’t wait to get back to this studio.

We had such a lovely, relaxing experience at Doodles Pottery Painting. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. They were great at explaining how everything worked and offered just the right amount of guidance while still letting us get creative. There were loads of painted examples around the studio, which gave us plenty of inspiration – perfect if you’re not sure where to start. It was such a nice way to unwind and do something a bit different. Highly recommend for a chilled-out, creative day!

A group of 7 mum’s all with babies under 6 months attended to complete hand/foot prints. Staff were super helpful and quick. Highly recommend.

Inviting, friendly and a great activity for all! Located at the back of Baytrees garden centre with plenty of parking. Both staff members we spoke to were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Greeted us on entry and explained the process! Spoilt for choice on the pottery pieces available and paints. Pastel and shimmery paints as well as the normal paints which I’ve not seen before! Plenty of space available in the shop and great for all ages 🌟

I held a women’s networking event earlier today, and we all had a great time. There is a huge selection to choose from at reasonable prices. The ladies were very friendly, and gave clear instructions. They were close by if we had questions but allowed us to get on with the painting. I would definitely visit again.

Have been here a few times since my kids were small and always loved this place! We went just before Christmas to paint some ornaments there was 7 of us in total 2 adults and 5 kids. The youngest 2 boys are 3, they sat and painted quietly for about 40 minutes (longer than expected) then they started to get a bit loud, we were both reminding them to be quieter inside. They weren’t running around etc and we were in the corner so not a massive disruption to anyone else. Our girls were still painting and a member of staff came over to ask if we were finished so we said not yet the girls are still painting and she made a comment about one of us taking the boys outside to ‘use up some of that energy’, even though it was raining. It made us feel a bit uncomfortable but we let the girls finish their painting then we got ready to leave and went up to pay where a different woman also made a comment about the boys and all their energy. It really made me feel uncomfortable and I felt like they wanted us out of there. I would completely understand if they were running around, messing with paints, running near the breakables etc but they weren’t doing anything other than being loud which we were quick to tell them each time they got a bit excited. Such a shame because we all loved it here but I was made to feel like it wasn’t suitable for young children
