Earth Fire Ceramics Clay School Studio Pottery Classes - The Pottery Cave

We had our daughters 8th birthday at the pottery cave at Bishton Hall last weekend and it was fantastic. My daughter was very specific that she wanted to work with clay not just paint a pot. You can paint a pot pretty much anywhere but finding a place that catered for kids pottery making at a reasonable price was much harder than you think despite living near the potteries. I came across the pottery cave who had the perfect children’s party offer, work with clay ( making the birthday girls choice), add colour with the underglaze and a small snack provided. The actual day was perfect and Caroline brilliant. We had 9 girls so had the pottery studio for ourselves. The girls got stuck in under the guidance of Caroline making beautiful butterflies which were the size of dinner plates so plenty of scope tho explore their creativity, with stamps, moulds, or their own making. Then got creative adding their underglaze colours. Caroline helped & guided them and put their music choices whilst creating. Then they had a lovely little snack provided and we just brought the birthday cake. With 20 mins left at the end they had a lovely run around & play outside in the courtyard. I picked up the butterflies a few weeks later which Caroline had carefully wrapped and named each one so I helpfully knew who’s was who and each one looked beautiful so unique. The birthday girl & all her friends were very pleased with their creations. It really was the perfect party & had the girls talking about it at school & a lovely memory in years to come.
