I have been to Bare Glazed Studio a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed myself every single time. I have even taken friends and family along so they can experience it too. My favourite class was making a Christmas decoration, but I also really loved making a pumpkin decoration for Halloween. I had never done pottery before, but Carly is so warm and friendly and instantly puts you at ease. She creates such a relaxed atmosphere and never makes you feel anxious, always offering help and guidance when you need it. She is incredibly talented and clearly passionate about what she does. I cannot recommend Bare Glazed Studio enough, it is such a lovely experience and can’t wait to make something new😆

Booked the Valentines workshop for myself and my husband where we were shown how to make heart shaped bowls . Carly was fantastic, very patient and encouraging. My efforts were awful but she was very complimentary even though I know it looked terrible . I would definitely recommend going and doing a workshop there though as Carly is so professional, helpful and kind . My husband’s bowl looked fantastic. You can most definitely tell from the picture which one is mine 🤣

Bare Glazed Studio is a truly special place to make work. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel far more than just a pottery studio. Run by Carly Byrne, the studio has a strong sense of community at its heart. There’s a genuine feeling of belonging here, and a space where experimentation is actively encouraged, curiosity is supported, and creative risks feel safe to take. The tutors are knowledgeable, generous with their expertise, and always happy to share techniques or talk through ideas, which makes the studio an incredible place to learn and grow as an artist. Communication is excellent, firings are reliable and timely, and the whole studio runs with care and consideration for its members. Beyond the making, there’s also fantastic social interaction. It’s a place where conversations flow as easily as the clay, and where you feel connected to a group of like-minded creatives. Bare Glazed doesn’t just feel like a studio; it feels like a family. A supportive, inspiring environment where people genuinely care about each other’s work and creative journeys. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Started off doing a 6 week beginners course and it was the best decision I ever made. Carly and Jason have both created a welcoming, friendly, inclusive space for creativity to reign. No questions I ever asked made me feel silly and they are both always more than happy to help. I've since done the Raku session and been back various other times since my initial session and it still fills me with that warm fuzzy feeling and i'm looking to go back for a wheel throwing course later this year. If you are looking to explore the world of clay in Swindon, Bare Glazed Studio should be your first choice. You won't regret it 🙂
