Joined Ben for a taster workshop a little if a year ago and went back, finally!, for the 5 week course. Went with a friend and we met 2 other pottery fans there and spent a couple of weeks on the wheel and then some slab work before a week of glazing and then our last week of the much awaited Raku firing. Lots of pots came home at the end and a great experience understanding the reality of throwing pots from beginning to end. Ben is a great teacher who is passionate and knowledgeable about his subject and inspires you to just be at peace with what the process delivers. We all (the 4 of us on the course) came away intact pots that we were proud of and I know we’ll be enjoying our mini reveal exhibition when we share our achievements with our other halves in our big reveal. Thanks Ben! Loved it!
I went with my then fiancée, now Husband just before our wedding as a way to unwind from all the wedding planning. It was a really good experience. To start with we did unfortunately, miss our appointment as my husban, booked it and had it in the calendar at the wrong date. However! Ben did allow us to rebook Thankfully. Neither of us had ever done pottery previously but Ben took us through all of it step by step answering whatever questions we had throughout. It was a really fun experience. We made a few mistakes here and there but in the end we came out with a few pieces of pottery that don't look all that bad 🥳 Definitely hoping to go back in future 🥰
Went for my birthday, first time for both me and my partner doing anything like this and we both really enjoyed it!! Ben was great at teaching and is an expert in his craft, would definitely go again
A fantastic 5 week course taught by Ben last year. He was very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. A great range of techniques shown and the Raku firing on the last week was a really treat.
Ben's classes are a place to learn all there is to know about pottery ... And world history in general. We had a lovely time discovering pottery in a relaxed environment and a beautiful setting. We'll be back.
I've just completed and thoroughly enjoyed the 6 week 'Go with the throw' course. Ben was a superb teacher and the studio and surroundings are relaxing and beautiful. The raku firing in the last lesson was amazing and I can't believe I have produced such wonderful pots! I will be back.
Took my dad today for a taster session with Ben and he had a great time! Ben was a great teacher and has lots of knowledge and patience. If you are thinking of doing this yourself or as a gift for someone I would highly recommend Tin can Pottery. The setting is lovely and the facilities are great. Ben made us feel very welcome and was easy to chat to and we all had a laugh. 💯 percent worth doing. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.Wanted to add that this was really good value for your money.
